Speaker | Educator | Curriculum Writer
I’m Sarah Marier, a licensed high school educator with over 12 years of experience working with teens. I’m an emotional intelligence curriculum writer, speaker, professional development workshop facilitator, and the host of The Moxie Teacher podcast. I’m also a trauma-informed educator currently pursuing a master’s degree in Trauma & Resilience in Educational Settings.
I created The Moxie Teacher from both my lived experience and what I see every day in schools. My own experiences with trauma and self-worth shaped my understanding of how important emotional intelligence is, and as a teacher, I’ve seen how many capable teens struggle simply because they were never taught the skills to understand themselves, manage emotions, or communicate clearly.
I also saw a bigger gap. Most secondary schools don’t have the time, resources, or training to explicitly teach these life skills, even though they deeply affect learning, behavior, and relationships. The Moxie Teacher was created to help fill that gap and make these tools more accessible to teens.
The Moxie Teacher focuses on helping young people build confidence, clarity, and healthier relationships with themselves and with others through practical, skills-based learning.
